Profhilo vs rejuran vs skinboosters. Which is better? | Ask Dr Daniel Chang

What is profhilo?

It is a new technology that biologically remodels your skin.
Neither a filler nor skin booster, Profhilo® is a patented technology of bio-remodeling injectable.
In my clinical experience,

In my clinical experience, I find that Skinboosters | Hydroboosters | Babyboosters are perfect for hydrating our skin. We need a series of 3 – 4 sessions. Cost is cheapest.

Rejuran, via PDRN technology, helps renew your skin and is perfect for skin remodelling, hence pore tightening and improving skin laxity. We need a series of 3 – 4 sessions.

The key benefit of Profhilo, according to my clinician friends from overseas who have been using it for some time now (because they do have access to Rejuran in their country) is its ability to remodel skin and improve skin laxity. We need a series of 2 sessions minimum, but the cost is way higher than the above 2. So do the results justify the cost? Lets investigate.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo® can bio-stimulate
– 4 types of collagen
– elastin
– proliferate adipocytes (fat) stem cells

How quickly does Profhilo work?

You will start seeing results 4 weeks after 1st treatment. Best results in 8 weeks after 1st session.

Is Profhilo better than a filler?

Profhilo is not a dermal filler. It works by remodelling skin, so its more than your typical skinbooster.

Is Profhilo dangerous?

Profhilo is FDA approved for anti ageing. In some cases, you may experience side effects are redness, soreness and bruising.

How does skin remodelling help you?

According to the manufacturer… This technology can
– combat skin laxity and signs of skin aging
– boost and hydrate your skin

Is Profhilo safe on human skin?

It is a 100% pure hyaluronic acid compound, completely biocompatible with skin, so it doesn’t harm skin tissue in any way. According to the manufacturer: During clinical testing, Profhilo® showed no negative side-effects.

Is there any pain or downtime in the treatment?

With just 5 injections per side, the downtime is minimal, with less pain, less swelling, less bruising.
The Hyaluronic Acid diffuses across the widest sections of your face through subdermal patterns, stimulating the production of elastin, collagen and hydration in the skin.

How many sessions would I need?

2 sessions*, spaced 1 month apart, Profhilo® can last between 6 – 12 months.

How often would I need Profhilo?

The current recommendation is yearly.

Can Profhilo be combined with other products?

Profhilo® delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments.

Conclusion: Is Profhilo better than Rejuran?

Safety wise, it is FDA approved.

Efficacy wise, there are clinical papers supporting it, but pretty low powered papers.

Price wise, it is way more expensive. Rejuran is at $699 per 2ML syringe, Skinboosters at $699 per 1ML, Profhilo is going at > $1200 per syringe.

In my humble opinion, I will be sticking to rejuran for now, until better studies are out. I have had very good experience with Rejuran for skin tone and textural improvement and as the saying goes, if it aint broken, dont fix it.
