Happy Birthday Singapore! What better way to celebrate this awesome day than to embrace the GORGEOUS sea of red. Speaking of red, one persistently pesky skin condition Singaporeans are no stranger to comes to my mind… U guessed it, the unstoppable angry red pimple.

We all remember that persistently pesky, diehard red spot that starts at our teenage years and evolves throughout our adulthood. For some of us, it lasts even longer … *sigh*

What causes pimples on your face? | What is acne?

Pimple is a result of obstruction of your pore. Overtime inflammation caused by P acne bacteria sets in. The result is those angry red, gigantic pimples that resemble tiny little half erupting volcanoes lol.

To tell you the truth, I go by the adage, more haste equals less speed. Quickfix: In some cases, I recommend an injection of shincort. This magically flattens your pimple. In most cases, a 3 month programme is needed.

What is the best treatment for pimples?

Every skin is different, every skin is unique. There is no best treatment. Whats important is finding a regime that suits your skin and prevents the formation of acne, which can lead to your unsightly acne scars.

For acne treatment, depending on the severity and distribution, the cost of acne treatment starts from $250/ session. Acne is a culmination of factors, hence the treatment requires a combination programme.

Is there surgery for acne, acne scarring?

Here i think even with the best tool in the world, a novice craftsman can only do so much. On any given day, I would choose an experienced physician over any expensive sexy laser machine. What you are looking for is not the latest machine, or the most expensive treatment. What you are looking for is the experience of the Physician and how comfortable you are with their programme.

Can acne scars be removed permanently?

Yes and no. Heres the science behind this. All treatment is geared towards producing skin injury, which triggers the neocollagenesis process. The new collagen formed stays with you, and it is this collagen that helps to repair your
scars. Ageing is a dynamic process and with the passage of time, collagen in our skin is progressively lost.

Do acne marks go away with treatment?

Acne marks are different from acne scars. Acne marks are red brown spots that occur as a result of acne inflammation. In my experience, these discolouration can be fixed with a 3 step formula.

Do acne scars go away on their own?

Unfortunately no. Scars are the result of excessive collagen breakdown in localised areas. With time, more collagen is broken down, so left on their own, scars can only get worse.
