Stubborn Body Fat – VENUS FREEZE, VANQUISH VS COOLSCULPTING, which is best for Fat reduction 2021 Singapore | Korean Aesthetic Clinic

Have you experienced those stubborn body fat that refuses to go away despite your repeated efforts at the gym?

Have you found that no amount of dieting helps to eliminate your love handles?

Do you notice your waistline growing larger despite your best kickass exercise regime?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In my experience, I have come across alot of healthy people with acceptable BMI still suffer from excess body fat. It is partly due to our diet, partly due to our genes, partly due to our lifestyle.

Which is better for fat reduction, Venus Freeze, Vanquish or Coolsculpting?

Here is the lowdown.

The Venus Freeze is a state of the art technology developed in Israel. It uses multipolar radiofrequency and pulsed magnetic fields that generate heat, resulting in skin tightening and wrinkle and cellulite reduction. It was FDA approved in 2010.

Vanquish is a contactless external radiofrequency device that uses electromagnetic waves to target your body fat only. The external skin ( epidermis, dermis)  is unharmed and this has been proven by histological studies. It is a far newer technology than Coolsculpting, and has been FDA approved for permanent fat reduction since June, 2015.

Coolsculpting utilises a time tested technology of cryolipolysis to freeze your fat cells, which are then removed by your lymphatics.

What are the indications?

Please note these treatments do not help in weight loss. They only serve to reduce body fat. Areas covered include

  • Tummy, Flanks
  • Limbs
  • Double Chin
  • Cellulite

What are the clinical results?

In clinical studies, Coolsculpting eliminated 20-25% of the fat cells treated.

Vanquish eliminated 25-30%.

What is the treatment schedule?

Vanquish requires weekly treatments, on average 4- 6 times, at 45 min intervals each. This covers the entire abdomen.

Coolsculpting requires an hour session each. It covers a small area, and 6 treatment pieces are needed to cover the entire abdomen from the flanks onwards.

What are the side effects of VENUS Freeze, Vanquish vs coolsculpting?

Venus Freeze and Vanquish have little to no downtime. Both are relatively painfree. Mild transient erythema has been reported in some cases.

Coolsculpting leads to redness, swelling and bruising, that takes 1 week to heal. Minority of patients experience temporary neuralgia ( nerve pain ). The process feels like a suction pulling your fat away, which can feel sore.

By contrast, Venus Freeze, Vanquish treats the entire abdominal area at once, as the device hovers above the skin without contact, providing a more even, smoother result.

So I hope this head to head comparison on the fat reduction machines in the market has been useful to you. Cheers to a slimmer you this June Holiday!

Of note, there is a clinical phenomenon known as PARADOXICAL ADIPOSE HYPERPLASIA  (PAH) which is a complication of Coolsculpting.  The area adjacent to the treated area undergoes rapid growth of the fat tissue, usually months after the initial Coolsculpting treatment.  Hence it is best when treating to cover the entire abdomen.
